“I enjoy walking –” the words poured out of her mouth in response to Mr. Darcy’s inquiry about seeing her back to the village. Hands gripped at the stone wall behind her, eyes flicking from him to the beautiful lands of Pemberley. She felt utterly ridiculous! Being at Pemberley after denying his hand! It was unheard of – –  Dumb! Incredibly inconsiderate!
“– but if you WISH to see me back, you may.

Even Elizabeth did not know what provoked such words, and her eyes again
focused on Mr. Darcy’s soft expression.

his joy at her acceptance was unprecedented. to call it joy, a gross understatement. the twitch at his lips proved too strong for even mr. darcy’s stoic ensemble and he allowed for the smile, small though it was. so she was agreeable to him in at least this! he would accept it, certainly, if only that it was chance enough for him to be in her company moments longer.

a wide sweep of his hand implied her taking the lead. please. head tilted, he kept his gaze fixed upon her. i would wish it above any other task, miss bennet.
